Kashmir is been known for its beauty in al seasons. It has been said that Kashmir is more beautiful during winters. However there is a section of society who does not enjoy the winter season as their hardships gets maximized during this season. Most of the population in the rural areas are dependent on agricultural activities or are daily wagers. In winters there is no agricultural work nor any labourer work as most of the construction activities get closed during winters. Such families face lot of difficulties during winters. We have met some of the families who had not enough food nor blankets to pass the harsh winter season.

At Al Shujaiat Foundation we have initiated Winter care Project to help such families. We provide a family pack to the poor and needy families enough for them to cater the needs of winter season. We provide them with necessary food items, that includes, spices, rice, flour, cooking oil, tea, sugar salt, etc. this family pack also includes few blankets (3 blankets for an 5 member family on an average). So far we have reached 800 families in district Pulwama, Anantnag and Kulgam area.We are continuously identifying new families that are deserving and need immediate assistance. This year we have identified 400 plus needy families. We are in need of support from our donors so that we can reach to the maximum number of needy and deserving families.
